WBIDC and FICCI organized an interactive meeting with the Diplomatic Community at Federation House, New Delhi on July 25, 2016.
Dr. A. Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI delivered the opening remarks. The welcome address was given by Mr. Harshavardhan Neotia, President, FICCI & Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group who shared his experience of doing business in Bengal and spoke highly about ease of doing business in Bengal.
Dr. Amit Mitra, Hon'ble Minister-in-Charge, Finance, Excise, Commerce & Industries, PE & IR Departments, Government of West Bengal delivered the Keynote address. Hon'ble MIC spoke on the industry-friendly measures taken by State Govt. to promote industrial development in the state. Among the key features offered to investors is land in Industrial parks, Smart Public Administration, Business friendly policies, Incentives. Hon'ble MIC mentioned about the new ports coming up in the state which will further leverage the locational advantage of West Bengal and promote the state as manufacturing hub not only for domestic market but South-East Asia as well.
Ambassadors from Bhutan, South Korea, Nepal, Austria, High Commissioner from Singapore and Senior Diplomats from Japan, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Myanmar, Malaysia, Netherland, Germany, France, Australia and Bangladesh attended the session. There was participation of 20 members of diplomatic community from 16 countries.
