Luncheon Interactive Session with Ambassadors

The Government of West Bengal is organizing the 4th edition of Bengal Global Business Summit 2018 scheduled on 16-17 January 2018 in Kolkata. FICCI is the Summit Partner and KPMG is the Knowledge Partner.
A Seminar on “Business & Investment Opportunities in West Bengal” was organised by Embassy of India, Thailand in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce on the 31 August in Bangkok.
As a prelude to the Summit, Govt. of West Bengal organised an Interactive Session with Diplomats on September 15, 2017 in New Delhi.
The Interactive Session was represented by nearly 31 Countries including Australia, Austria, Bhutan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Finland, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Peru, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, UAE etc.
Over 15 Ambassadors and High Commissioners from Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Romania, Singapore, Bhutan, Norway, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia & Russia attended the interactive session.
Ambassadors from Bulgaria, UAE, Indonesia, Israel, Netherlands, Hungary and Saudi Arabia had one to one meetings with the Minister and Senior Government Officials.
Dr. Amit Mitra, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Finance and Industry, Commerce & Enterprises Departments, Government of West Bengal delivered the Keynote address.
Dr. Sanjaya Baru, Secretary General, FICCI delivered the Welcome address.
Mr. Partha Sathpathy, Joint Secretary – States, and Senior Officials from Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India attended the session.
From Government of West Bengal, Mr. S. Kishore, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industry, Commerce and Enterprises Departments, Government of West Bengal and Dr. Krishna Gupta, IAS, Principal Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal participated in the discussion.
Ms. Vandana Yadav, IAS, Managing Director, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation made a presentation on West Bengal.
The interactions were fruitful and many Countries expressed an interest to send delegation to BGBS 2018.
