A high powered official and business delegation from West Bengal led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited UK from November 12 – 16, 2017 to promote closer engagement and cooperation in various fields and explore trade and investment opportunities between the UK and West Bengal.
London: Hon’ble Chief Minister unveiled a commemorative blue plaque at the London family home of Sister Nivedita on November 12. An Interactive roundtable was organized in London by UK India Business Council and FICCI on November 13 addressed by Hon’ble Chief Minister. Lord Davies of Abersoch CBE, Chair, UK India Business Council addressed the event.
Scotland: A meeting with Dr Alasdair Allan, Minister for International Development and Europe, The Scottish Government was held on November 13. An Interactive business meet on November 13 was organized by The Government of West Bengal, High Commission of India in the UK, FICCI, in partnership with Scottish Development International, UK India Business Council, Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and Asia Scotland Institute. The keynote address was delivered by Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal. Dr. Amit Mitra, Honourable Minister, Finance, Industry, Commerce & Enterprises, Government of West Bengal addressed the session. The session was also addressed by Mr. Uzair Syed, India Lead, Scottish Development International, Ms. Anju Ranjan, Consul General of India in Edinburgh and Mr David Birrell, Director, Asia Scotland Institute. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Malay Kumar De, Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal. Noted industrialists from West Bengal shared their experiences of doing business in the State.
