West Bengal with a GSDP of USD 155.32 billion is the 4th largest contributor to India’s services GDP and 6th largest contributor to India’s manufacturing GDP. With a consumer base of over 91 million and a strategic location gateway to over 300 million people covering entire East, North East of India, West Bengal is also the gateway to South East Asia and ASEAN countries. The State is a perfect blend of economic strength and dynamism, with a strong consumer base, vibrant industry, large talent pool, industry friendly stable policies, transparent governance and record social and physical infrastructure development. The State Govt. is committed towards inclusive and sustainable development, providing increasing employment opportunities.

The State has introduced a number of Industry friendly policies. The State also offers numerous industry specific and multiproduct growth centres and industrial parks with plug and play infrastructure available for investments. With upcoming  major deep sea port coming up at Tajpur, Amritsar Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) aligned to Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, national waterways, ready industrial infrastructure with over 200 industrial parks/estates covering around 20,000 acres, new theme/ green townships has opened up new vistas of investment opportunities. 

Bengal Global Business Summit is the annual flagship event organized by Government of West Bengal to showcase the business readiness and investment potential of West Bengal in front of the global business community. BGBS 2018 attracted participation of over 4000 delegates from across India and 32 countries. 

Bengal Global Business Summit will include

• plenary sessions with political dignitaries from India and abroad, top corporates , thought leaders, senior diplomats
• sectoral sessions to explore business opportunities in focus sectors 
• country sessions to explore areas of collaboration, partnership, exchange knowledge and best practises
